This is what we recommend when you want one roof that outlasts your mortgage. Works on any pitch above 3:12 and is the right call for homes visible from the street.
5V Crimp / Exposed-Fastener R-Panel. The value system. Traditional galvalume steel panels with exposed fasteners, typically 26-gauge, in a smaller palette of colors. Installs faster and costs substantially less than standing seam. Best fit for barns, detached garages, outbuildings, and homes where budget matters more than the architectural look. Expect 30–40 years with proper maintenance of the fastener gaskets.

Standing seam uses hidden clips that attach to the decking — the visible surface has no fasteners to loosen, back out, or leak. Exposed-fastener systems (5V, R-panel) screw directly through the panel into the deck; every screw has a rubber gasket that will eventually need replacement (typically every 15–20 years). Standing seam costs more up front; exposed-fastener systems are cheaper and faster to install but require periodic maintenance.
Two layered warranties. The manufacturer covers the panels themselves — typically 40 years on the paint and lifetime on the substrate. On top of that, Crest Roofing & Gutters provides a 10-year workmanship warranty covering the installation itself. Metal takes longer than shingles because panels are cut to length, flashings are hand-formed, and every penetration is handled individually.
